Gallery Crawl Meet

DATE: Saturday, 12th of January, 2013.

* 1st Meeting *
Underground Green Park station - the south exit - by the statue in the park just outside the tube exit.
Time 11:30
We will go to the Royal Academy of Arts to see Mariko Mori: Rebirth.
(if you don't want to spend money you can see the freebies, and we will meet again at 13:30)

* 2nd Meeting *
Meet just outside the doors of the Royal Academy of Arts
Time 13:30
If you want to skip RA you can meet us then. After that we we will go to Cork Street.

* 3rd Meeting *
On Cork Street we will decide where to reunite at around:
Time 15:00
...and proceed to Soho. There we will see if we want to go to the Photographers Gallery or just shops, pubs and bars.

Few words from the organiser:

Hey everyone, so all you all know, next Sunday we are going to Saatchi gallery, here is the website to the gallery if you have not already seen: [link]

Please check travel updates before your leave on [link] , Sloane square is on the circle and district line.
Also I suggest bringing drinks/snack from home because the prices will be expensive at Sloane Square!

So we will be meeting at the war memorial in Sloane Square, it is diagonal to the underground (to your right), you will see a large Christian cross, and that's where we will meet at 12:30, we will wait around until most people are there and then we will leave and walk down to the gallery. Just in case people get lost or cannot find us, take down my number:

The gallery is never too busy and is smaller than other museums and galleries in London so everybody just stay a bit more alert (the art might be in the middle of the room so be careful not to walk backwards and into a piece of art!) also avoid touching the art (I know that is really obvious, but sometimes it's hard to resist and Saatchi doesn't have any restraints), also feel free to split up and explore the gallery yourselves with small groups of friends, we will all meet back outside the gallery after a few hours, I don't want to put a time limit on it but we will probably be in there for about 2 hours, that will be enough to look around at everything.

After the gallery we can walk about the area and then make our way to get something to eat...there is a McDonalds just a few steps away from the gallery.
We can also decide on the day after gallery but we could also go to winter wonderland for a bit, or anywhere else close by!
And then end with the pub at Victoria!

THE STORY: MG's DA LONDON MEET Sep 22nd

The meet was bonkers!
We had another few rounds of Ninja with 's Ninja clan… We even had weapons that were on FIRE!!!! No kidding! Luckily the person who won the Twilight book wasn't part of the Twilight biblioclasm that most people seemed to be the members of - exclaiming: BURN IT, BURNT IT, BURN IT!!!! He stood his pacifist ground in the face of escalating hate and with a flash of genius found a different outlet of catharsis by allowing everyone to tag it.
Apart from that we had of course other prizes that others generously added to the pile, especially 's comic books seemed to be very popular among the deviants. And we also had few people giving commissions as presents! People also played cards and drew/wrote stuff on a scroll that I brought with me to the meet and then took it back home like a right bum. But I'll be scanning everything in (A4 scanner! That might take a while ) and I'll post the finished image. Also this scroll will be a prize in another park meet.
Later on the left-overs – odd 25 of us – made our way to Namco's bar which unfortunately got booked (last second as it was after I rang them regarding this)... that was a bummer but Alex told us about this pub down the road, which we decided to make our way to... but ended up going the 'short way'... through... The People's Republic of China… as was the first to notice, all due to the relentless faith in HTC satnav. Sorry for preaching here, but HTC satnav is controlled by the devil himself… _{It likes to trick people especially when most needed.}

P.S. Given the upstairs of the pub was booked, we have lieterally flooded the downstairs, it was a pub full of people drawing and being all deviating.

Another meet in Kensington Gardens coming soon, with prizes...
...and not just any cheap prizes, I mean quality ones... but also cheap ones We will use raffle tickets, like in the Devinatart's Gallery Show. And it would be good if some people brought potential prizes themselves. It can be anything, like a bag of sweets, or something you lost interest in but is still cool, or even your own artwork! We'll also have badminton, and what ever else you can suggest.

In this gathering you can meet lots of fantastic like-minded and creative people, chill out and do art. Do bring your sketchbooks, art materials and some artwork to show if you fancy. And most importantly don't be afraid if your coming alone and don't know anyone yet or if you're shy, because there are usually a lot of people like you (including me) who start out exactly like you by going alone.

This is a picnic meet so bring along snacks for yourself, and for others if you like.

One of my ideas, if we get enough people interested, is to paint/draw on a giant long sheet of paper on which your part of art has to join up, in some imaginative or just totally messed up way, with someone else's part... I can bring art materials....... and more ideas are welcome!

Finish of with Namco. There are arcade games etc. & a large bar with pool (this is going to be our pub) and nearby is some buffet restaurant and McDonalds. It's next to London eye. All are welcome to join in. Namco: [link]
